Leyton Orient Challenge For Promotion As Brentford Women Look To Extend Winning Streak

Brentford Women’s team, managed by Karleigh Osborne, have been in outstanding form with three consecutive wins and a total of 10 goals scored since their loss to Dulwich Hamlet Reserves early in December. Currently sitting fourth in the Greater London Premier Division table, Leyton Orient have a strong chance of challenging for promotion in the second half of the season. Leanne Bates, who has scored 11 goals in six appearances, and Liliana Almeida, with six goals in 11 appearances, have been key players for Leyton Orient.

Last time out, Brentford secured an impressive 4-0 victory over Whyteleafe after an 11-week hiatus from league action. Freya Worsley, Kirsty Matthews, and Chloe Logie all found the back of the net, with Logie now boasting 15 goals this season, making her the second leading goal scorer in the league behind Kendal Drake from Sport London E Benfica.

Brentford Women B, on the other hand, will face CB Hounslow United in the Capital Cup at Bedfont Sports Club on Sunday. The team is on a remarkable winning streak with 12 consecutive victories and remains undefeated this season. CB Hounslow United, seventh in the Greater London Division One South table, recently suffered a 5-4 loss to Leyton Orient in the JGMT Cup, ending their campaign in the competition. However, they secured a convincing 6-1 win over Clapham United in their last league game.

Rianna White has been the top scorer for CB Hounslow United this season, finding the back of the net six times in five games. The Bees, as Brentford Women B are known, had a challenging 2-0 victory over Actonians Thirds in their last JGMT Cup match, with goals from Holly Hawkes and Lillie Elsbury in the second half securing their win.

As Brentford Women B continue their journey in the JGMT Cup, they will now head into the third round, aiming to extend their impressive winning streak under the guidance of coach Tommy Ryan-Maynard.
