Mammootty starrer Turbo Fails to Deliver On Its Promises
Malayalam superstar Mammootty‘s latest action thriller, Turbo, falls short of expectations as it fails to capitalize on the actor’s potential.
The film, written by Midhun Manuel Thomas and directed by Vysakh, revolves around the character of Turbo Jose, a simple man living in Idukki known for getting into frequent fights.
When Turbo’s friend Jerry rejects his girlfriend Indu, Jose takes it upon himself to reunite them, leading to a chain of events that uncover a larger political plot orchestrated by Vetrivel Shanmuga Shankar, played by Raj B Shetty.
Turbo’s storyline, which initially shows promise in the rural settings of Idukki, transitions into a mass masala narrative in Chennai but fails to offer anything new to the audience.
The film’s weak script and lackluster character development, especially that of the antagonist Vetrivel, hinder its potential to engage the viewers. The movie relies heavily on action sequences to keep the momentum going, with comedy elements falling flat throughout.
Mammootty shines in the action sequences, showcasing his acting prowess, while Raj B Shetty’s role as Vetrivel fails to make a strong impact.
The music and background score by Christo Xavier are average, failing to elevate the viewing experience of the audience.
Turbo hints at a potential sequel at the end of the film, leaving viewers to wonder if the franchise will explore new territories in the future.
