Manhunt Continues for Escapee Antoine Massey Amid Social Media Drama

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — The manhunt for Antoine Massey, one of two remaining escapees from the Orleans Parish jail, continues into its third week. Investigators are now examining new Instagram videos posted by Massey that have raised additional concerns.
Massey, who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center on May 16 along with nine other inmates, appeared in videos on the account “@_007chucky.” The videos, which have circulated widely on social media, show him speaking directly to viewers, pleading his case and denying allegations regarding his escape.
In one video, Massey asserts, “I’m one of the ones that was let out of Orleans Parish jail where they said I escaped, right?” He goes on to contest claims that he threatened a jail worker to facilitate the escape, stating that he was misunderstood.
Massey specifically denies he threatened Sterling Williams, a jail maintenance worker who investigators say was coerced into shutting off water to a cell, which allowed inmates to create an escape route. “Sterling flat-out lied on me,” Massey claims.
Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson responded to the videos, urging Massey to turn himself in. “If the individual depicted in the video is indeed Antoine Massey, we strongly urge him to come forward,” Hutson stated. “Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest.”
Massey also uses the videos to call for help from several public figures, including President Donald Trump and local rappers Lil Wayne and Meek Mill. He claims the State of Louisiana is corrupt and insists he is being wrongfully prosecuted.
Meanwhile, authorities are intensifying their search for Massey and Derrick Groves, the two last escapees from a group that originally included ten inmates. Eight of the escapees have been recaptured, and more than a dozen individuals suspected of assisting in the escape have been arrested.
The reward for information leading to Massey or Groves has reached $50,000 for each inmate, with contributions from Crime Stoppers, the FBI, and the ATF. As the manhunt intensifies, investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the jailbreak.
