Marquette Vs Seton Hall Basketball Game

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Marquette University will host Seton Hall on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Fiserv Forum, looking to build on a recent victory over DePaul that ended a three-game losing streak. The Golden Eagles, boasting a record of 19-6 overall and 10-4 in the Big East, are currently positioned in third place in the conference standings, two games behind the leaders, St. John's.

Marquette’s recent victory was a welcome turnaround, as they struggled offensively during their losing stretch. The Golden Eagles edged DePaul 68-58 last week, with Kam Jones leading the team with 19 points. This upcoming matchup against Seton Hall is crucial as Marquette aims to avoid taking their next opponent lightly.

Seton Hall, sitting at 7-18 overall and 2-12 in the Big East, is coming off an unexpected overtime victory against Connecticut. Isaiah Coleman led the Pirates with 23 points in that game. Despite Seton Hall’s low ranking in the conference, they have shown they can compete, as evidenced by their win against a stronger UConn squad.

The teams faced each other earlier this season, with Marquette securing a convincing 76-59 win. However, oddsmakers project a different game this time, estimating a tighter contest due to Marquette’s recent shooting struggles, particularly from beyond the arc. They converted only 4-of-25 three-point attempts against DePaul, which has raised concerns about their offensive consistency leading into this game.

The game is set to tip off at 8 p.m. CT, and it will be broadcast on Channel 201 for Marquette’s coverage and Channel 380 for Seton Hall’s broadcast. As both teams prepare, the Golden Eagles will be looking to stabilize their shooting while the Pirates hope to capitalize on their momentum from the dramatic win last Saturday.

“We can’t underestimate Seton Hall just because of where they sit in the standings. Coach Holloway has them playing hard every night,” Marquette’s coach said during a recent press conference. As excitement builds ahead of the game, fans can expect an engaging match as Marquette aims to extend their winning streak.

In addition to the competition, Marquette will honor Oso Ighodaro with the McCahill Award, recognizing the top senior student-athlete for the 2023-24 season. All eyes will be on this evening matchup, filled with potential playoff implications for both teams.
