Massive Fire Engulfs Turtle Tavern in Downtown Milford

MILFORD, Massachusetts — Firefighters are battling a significant blaze at the Turtle Tavern on Main Street Monday evening. The fire erupted at approximately 6 p.m. at 72 Main St., a three-story building that contains the tavern as well as residential apartments above.

Sky5 footage showed heavy flames and thick smoke billowing from the roof of the building. As a precaution, emergency vehicles have blocked Main Street to traffic.

Emergency response teams are still working to extinguish the flames. There is currently no information available regarding injuries or the cause of the fire. Investigators from the State Police Fire Marshal’s office are en route to assist local firefighters.
