Mega Millions Jackpot Soars to $154 Million Ahead of Friday Drawing

ATLANTA, GA — The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has risen to $154 million after no one matched all the winning numbers in the drawing on Tuesday, May 20. If someone correctly picks all six numbers in Friday’s drawing, they could choose a one-time cash payment of approximately $69 million.
The winning numbers from Tuesday’s drawing were 7, 18, 40, 55, 68, and Mega Ball 18. The drawing is set to take place this Friday, May 23, at 11 p.m. ET, and lottery officials will announce the results shortly thereafter.
So far in 2025, there have been three Mega Millions winners. The latest winner took home a $112 million jackpot, while another winner claimed a $344 million jackpot on March 25. Players must select six numbers: five from a set of white balls numbered 1 to 70, and one gold Mega Ball from a set numbered 1 to 25. Alternatively, they can choose the Easy Pick option for random numbers.
Jackpot winners have the option to receive their payout in 30 annual payments, with each payment increasing by five percent, or a lump-sum payment. Mega Millions tickets are priced at $5 and can be purchased at convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. In some states, tickets can also be bought online.
This is the first time Mega Millions tickets include a built-in multiplier, which increases the non-jackpot prizes by two to ten times. Previously, players had to pay an additional dollar for this feature. There are now 15 Megaplier balls included.
For those interested in playing, the Jackpocket app allows users to pick their lottery game and numbers, order tickets, view their tickets, and claim winnings all from their phones or computers. Lottery tickets can be purchased in several U.S. states and territories through this app.
