Published

on

The unofficial preliminary count results for the Moreton Bay City Council elections are being tallied by the Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ). In Division Two, candidates Mark Booth and Greg Dillon are in a tight race, while in Division Three, Adam Hain and Kerri Raedel are competing closely.

In Division Five, the battle is on between Garry Ohlson, Sandra Ruck, and Dean Teasdale. Meanwhile, in Division Six, Benita Suckling and Karl Winchester are vying for the seat.

Division Eight is witnessing a fierce competition with Jim Moloney, Jamie Walter, Stephen Huxtable, Sue Laird, and Tara Seiffert-Smith all contending for the position left vacant by long-serving councillor Mick Gillam. In Division Ten, incumbent Matt Constance faces challenges from Andrew Murphy and Brent McDowall.

Former Councillor Adrian Raedel is aiming to reclaim Division 12 from sitting councillor Tony Latter, with Errol O’Brien also in the race. The campaigning for Division 8, 10, and 12 has been intense, reflecting the significance of these positions within the Moreton Bay City Council.

Notably, Division 5 has witnessed a strong turnout with the Scarborough booth reporting numbers for Garry Ohlson, Sandra Ruck, and Dean Teasdale. The preliminary figures suggest a considerable voter participation rate in this election.

As the counting progresses, the tension is palpable among candidates and their supporters. The final results will shape the future direction of the Moreton Bay City Council, and the community eagerly awaits the outcome.
