Outer Banks Season 4 Netflix

The highly anticipated fourth season of Netflix‘s “Outer Banks” is set to premiere on October 10, 2023, marking a new chapter for the adventurous group known as the Pogues. This season picks up with the characters having returned to the Outer Banks, or OBX, and grappling with the life-altering discovery of gold from El Dorado.

Season 3 left audiences with an 18-month time jump, prompting fans to speculate on what transpired during that period. Chase Stokes, who portrays John B, shared insights during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” stating, “Season 4 picks up at that exact moment of those 18 months. We really get to explore what happens when they find the gold from El Dorado, what that does to a bunch of teenagers who have never had money.”

The creators of “Outer Banks,” Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, consider the first three seasons as a cohesive trilogy. In an interview with Tudum, Josh Pate remarked, “We felt like we needed to migrate them out of school. We’re going to have new villains, a new treasure hunt, a new life situation.” This perspective sets the stage for fresh challenges and adventures in Season 4.

The returning cast members continue to explore their characters’ growth and new circumstances. Jonathan Daviss, who plays Pope, expressed excitement about uncovering what happened during the time jump, saying, “That’s what I’m most excited for, just figuring out what is in between that time.” Similarly, Rudy Pankow, portraying JJ, asked the thought-provoking question, “What do you want now? When you finally get something, what do you want?”

As they aim to recreate their happiest times, the Pogues decide to build “Poguelandia 2.0,” a new safe haven complete with a bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. Meanwhile, new character Wes Genrette, played by David Jensen, presents them with an enticing offer to join yet another search, suggesting more adventures and mysteries await.

Fans can rewatch Seasons 1-3 on Netflix before the new season drops, with Part 1 available from October 10 and Part 2 arriving on November 7. As Chase Stokes hinted, “If you’ve ever watched the show, the Pogues don’t do too well when they have a positive situation, so trouble kind of follows them.”
