New Celebrity Adventure Race Begins Tonight

The excitement is building as the second series of Celebrity Race Across the World kicks off tonight on One. Contestants are gearing up for an adventure that takes them through the Amazon and the Andes!

This season features four new pairs competing to cross several countries without using any kind of transport, smartphones, or bank cards. They’ll be relying solely on their resourcefulness and a little bit of luck!

Among the competitors are TV personality Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, actor Kola Bokinni with his cousin Mary, former glamour model Jeremy and his husband, and Radio 2 host with his husband Sam. It’s going to be an intense journey as they navigate the wild terrains of South America.

The race kicks off in Belem, located in northern Brazil. Known as the gateway to the Amazon, Belem is a picturesque city filled with stunning churches and charming, colorful houses reminiscent of its colonial past.

From Belem, the contestants will trek across an incredible 12,500 kilometers, hitting five undisclosed checkpoints before reaching their final destination in Frutillar, Chile, nestled in the Andes. This charming town is renowned for its beautiful lake and vibrant music scene.

Tim Harcourt, the chief creative officer of Studio Lambert, expressed his excitement for the new season, saying they can’t wait to showcase the breathtaking scenery of South America while pushing celebrity contestants to their limits.

So, tune in tonight at 9 pm on iPlayer and BBC One to catch the thrilling start of this celebrity adventure race!
