New Park & Ride Service for Soccer Fans in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – VIA Metropolitan Transit announced a new Park & Ride service for fans attending the Mexico vs. Paraguay soccer friendly at the Alamodome. The service is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Nov. 18 and will operate from both Crossroads Park & Ride and the Brooks Transit Center.
Fans can park their vehicles for free and take advantage of the round-trip service for only $2.60. For students, military personnel, and others who qualify, discounts are also available.
Tickets for the Park & Ride can be purchased at the location or via the goMobile+ app, according to the release. This initiative is expected to ease transportation issues for attendees, especially considering the anticipated crowd for the friendly match.
“We want to ensure that fans have a convenient way to get to the game and enjoy a hassle-free experience,” a VIA spokesperson said.
This soccer match is part of a growing trend of international sports events being hosted in San Antonio, which aims to engage fans and boost local tourism.
