Nico Collins Stays Focused on Winning Despite Inconsistent Season
HOUSTON, Texas – Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is having a more challenging season than in previous years, averaging fewer yards per game and struggling with consistency. As the Texans prepare to face the Tennessee Titans this weekend, Collins is focused on winning rather than personal statistics.
Collins, who aims to surpass 1,000 receiving yards for the third consecutive year, has seen ups and downs in his performance this season. He maintains a positive outlook despite the turbulence. “Yeah, man, just continue to get open. Continue to run the right routes, and just let the ball come to you,” he said.
The Texas native acknowledged that frustration could set in but emphasized the importance of keeping his focus as a team player. “It’s not about me. It’s not about yards. I just want to win,” Collins stated. He believes that if he focuses on the little things, opportunities will come.
Despite the challenges, Collins remains a crucial offensive player for the Texans. He had a standout performance last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, recording a season-high 136 yards and 15 targets with backup quarterback Davis Mills at the helm.
Looking ahead, Collins aims to sustain high performance against the Titans and help elevate the team to a .500 record for the first time this season. With C.J. Stroud still recovering from a concussion, Mills will lead the team once again.
Collins is eager to see if he can maintain his momentum and assist in the team’s efforts as they strive to improve their record. The Texans’ ability to mount a winning streak and remain competitive is vital as the season progresses.
