Ottawa Senators Investing in Canadian Tire Centre Upgrades for Enhanced Fan Experience
The Ottawa Senators organization, led by owner Michael Andlauer, has embarked on a mission to enhance the fan experience at the Canadian Tire Centre. Following the team’s preferred bidder status for an events centre at LeBreton Flats from the National Capital Commission in June 2022, the focus has shifted to improving the current arena’s offerings.
While discussions with the NCC continue for a potential lease in the fall of this year, the Senators are actively investing in upgrades at the Canadian Tire Centre. President Cyril Leeder, CEO Erin Crowe, and VP Chris Phillips are spearheading the effort to ensure fans receive top-notch amenities.
The organization has already implemented changes such as installing LED lighting and upgrading the message board above the 100-level seating. These enhancements are part of a larger plan to revamp the arena gradually.
Despite the possibility of a future move to a downtown arena, the Senators acknowledge that they will remain at the CTC for the next four to five years. This timeframe necessitates continuous improvements to elevate the fan experience and demonstrate a commitment to their loyal supporters.
Phillips emphasized the importance of creating a positive environment for attendees, whether casual fans or season ticket holders. The team is exploring various upgrades, including seating modifications, technology enhancements, and potential new additions to enhance the overall atmosphere.
By investing in the Canadian Tire Centre, the Senators aim to set a foundation for a seamless transition to a new arena in the future. While the focus remains on the current venue, the organization is laying the groundwork for a smooth evolution in the coming years.
