Paul Skenes Hot Dog Roller

Pittsburgh, PA — Paul Skenes, the standout pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, is enjoying the offseason with a unique culinary gadget: a hot dog roller. The 23-year-old athlete revealed his latest kitchen addition in a TikTok video shared by his girlfriend, influencer Livvy Dunne, on October 8.

The video features Skenes while he prepares dinner on his impressive hot dog roller, which cooks four hot dogs while keeping buns warm above. “The sound that plays in my head when my bf brings out the hot dog roller for dinner,” Dunne joked, setting the video to dramatic music. She noted Skenes’ serious approach to this playful kitchen appliance, adding in her caption that, “he takes his craft very seriously.”

While Skenes shines on the baseball field, Dunne, a retired gymnast, also delights in America’s favorite ballpark snack. In July, she attempted to purchase Babe Ruth‘s former New York City apartment for $1.6 million but was rejected. Although that acquisition fell through, this hot dog roller seems to embody her spirit for enjoying the great American pastime.

Dunne’s recent retirement from gymnastics allows her to engage more deeply in her boyfriend’s career. She previously shared her goal of sampling hot dogs from every MLB stadium, specifically praising PNC Park, where Skenes plays. “I honestly really like PNC Park, where Paul pitches,” she stated in an interview.

Skenes was selected as the first overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He earned a spot in the All-Star game this season and finished the year with a league-best ERA of 1.97. Despite the Pirates’ season ending without a postseason berth, Skenes’ performance has kept him in the spotlight, making him a candidate for the NL Cy Young award.

The couple is currently settling into a new home in Jupiter, Florida, along with a second apartment in New York City. With their busy schedules, their relationship thrives on mutual support. “We don’t restrict each other from doing things,” Dunne explained. “It’s a two-way road.”

As Skenes and Dunne continue to build their life together, the hot dog roller proves to be more than just a kitchen appliance; it’s a symbol of their shared enjoyment of baseball culture.
