Payton Pritchard Bounces Back in Celtics’ Victory Over Grizzlies
BOSTON — Payton Pritchard admitted he was disappointed in his recent performances, but he found his rhythm again during a resounding victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Celtics guard woke up Wednesday morning determined to return to his routine, starting with a fresh haircut.
Pritchard’s effort shone through on the court, contributing significantly to Boston‘s decisive 131-95 win. He scored a team-high 24 points while adding six rebounds and nine assists, finishing with an impressive plus-42 in just 30 minutes of play.
“I was just kind of in a funk mentally,” Pritchard explained. “I just didn’t play with the same juice, same energy.” His aggressive approach helped the team dominate, as he shot 8-for-15 from the field, including 5-for-10 on three-pointers.
Despite struggling in his previous performances, Pritchard expressed optimism. “There are going to be low points, and it’s just — don’t let it break you. You just grow from it, learn from it and get better from it,” he said.
Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla praised Pritchard’s impact and resilience. “P knows we got the ultimate amount of trust in him that this is just a little slump,” teammate Derrick White added.
As the Celtics continue to navigate the season, Pritchard’s ability to overcome challenges will be key in their pursuit of success. His bounce-back performance serves as a reminder of his talent and the important role he plays on the team.
