President Biden Speaking At The Rose Garden

President Joe Biden is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday morning, November 7, 2024, to discuss the results of the 2024 presidential election and the transition to the new administration. The speech is set to take place at 11 a.m. ET from the Rose Garden of the White House.

Biden’s address will be his first public commentary since the election results were announced, showing Donald Trump‘s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. In his speech, Biden is expected to emphasize the importance of a smooth transition and working to bring the country together.

Prior to his speech, Biden spoke with President-elect Donald Trump and expressed his commitment to ensuring a seamless transition. He also invited Trump to a meeting at the White House to prepare for the transfer of power. Trump’s campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, stated that Trump looks forward to the meeting and appreciated the call.

Biden also reached out to Vice President Kamala Harris, congratulating her on her campaign despite the loss. He praised her as a “tremendous partner and public servant” and highlighted her historic campaign.

Harris, in her concession speech at Howard University, urged unity and a peaceful transfer of power. She emphasized that accepting the results of the election is a fundamental principle of American democracy and encouraged her supporters to remain hopeful and engaged.

The speech will be broadcast live on various networks, including NBC 4, and will be available to stream through the NBC New York app and other streaming platforms.
