Prime Minister Modi Lauds Article 370 Film, Calling It Informative For Public

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally at the iconic Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, commended an upcoming movie based on Article 370 and its potential to provide accurate information to the public.

Speaking to the enthusiastic crowd, PM Modi expressed his support for the film, even though he admitted to not being fully aware of the storyline, stating, ‘I do not know what the film is all about but yesterday I heard on TV that a film is coming on Article 370. Good, it will be useful for people to get correct information.’

The movie, titled ‘Article 370’, is produced by Aditya Dhar, known for his work on ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, a film that garnered him the National Film Award for Best Director. The cast includes prominent actors like Yami Gautam, Priyamani, and Arun Govil under the direction of Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

The narrative of ‘Article 370’ revolves around the impact of the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, a controversial decision that reshaped the region’s administrative landscape by bifurcating the state into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Notably, the Supreme Court recently upheld the government’s decision to abrogate Article 370, with Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud stating, ‘All provisions of the Indian Constitution can be applied to J-K… We hold the exercise of presidential power to issue the constitutional order abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution as valid.’
