Ryan Seacrest Nearly Misses Live Show Due to Traffic Jam

NEW YORK, NY — Ryan Seacrest faced a close call while rushing to make a guest appearance on a live show, nearly missing the taping due to an unexpected traffic jam. As he finally arrived on set, Seacrest let out a sigh of relief, sharing his experience with co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
After the three embraced, Ripa remarked, “Thank you for getting here,” to which Seacrest humorously responded, “Thank you, it’s very nice to be here. I wasn’t so sure for a second there.” Consuelos chimed in, “We weren’t sure either,” highlighting the tense moments leading up to the live taping that day.
Seacrest revealed the behind-the-scenes chaos, saying, “About five minutes before we came on set, we got a text from Ryan.” He jokingly added, “I can read it out loud if you want.”
In his text to Ripa and Consuelos, Seacrest described his frustrating drive, stating, “Morning, I gave myself two full hours from upstate but I’m sitting on the Hudson, which can only be described as the second act of Sharknado 10. Unwatchable. But I’m sitting here. It’s happening and there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Despite the challenging ride, he maintained a lighthearted tone, saying, “[My driver] is saying I will arrive at 9:15am. The other map says I can get here earlier if I did the worm for 50 blocks, but I’m 48 and I’d rather get a vasectomy the normal way.”
He also playfully teased Consuelos about his makeup habits, stating, “The good news is I’m dressed and I don’t care about makeup the way Mark does. I’ll walk right out there like I’m starring in a damn Dove commercial, celebrating my inner beauty.”
As the audience laughed, he concluded his message: “I hate being late but I’m coming. Tell this to the most terrified person wearing a headset. I believe it’s Beth. I love you both.” Consuelos confirmed, “And it was. Beth was here. Looked terrified wearing a headset. But I’m here.” Ripa echoed, “You made it worth the wait.”
Consuelos then added, “I hate being late too. That feeling takes about a year off your life,” to which Seacrest jokingly commented, “Yeah, that definitely shortened the time I have left with my children.”
Ripa reassured him, “Don’t worry about it,” as the co-hosts continued to lighten the mood. Thankfully, despite the stressful moments, Seacrest made it just in time for the live show.
