Sam Worthington Netflix I Will Find You Series

BILLINGS, Mont. — Sam Worthington has been cast as the lead in Netflix‘s upcoming limited series, “I Will Find You,” based on Harlan Coben’s bestselling novel.

The series, ordered in November 2024, marks the first U.S. adaptation of a Corben book under his exclusive deal with Netflix. The eight-episode thriller follows David Burroughs, a father wrongfully convicted of murdering his son, who must escape prison after receiving evidence suggesting his child may still be alive.

Worthington, known for his role in James Cameron’s “Avatar” films, will portray David Burroughs, a man burdened by guilt and despair over his circumstances. “It’s an intense story about a man’s battle against the injustice of a life sentence and a father’s relentless love,” Worthington provided in a statement.

Coben co-created the series with Robert Hull, who will serve as the showrunner. Hull is recognized for his previous work on series such as “God Friended Me” and “Quantum Leap.” Alongside Coben and Hull, Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, and John Weber will executive produce the series.

“This adaptation brings an exciting narrative to life, blending suspense with deep emotional themes,” said Coben. “I’m thrilled to work with such a talented cast and crew.”

This project joins a slew of successful Netflix adaptations of Coben’s novels, including “Fool Me Once,” “Stay Close,” and “The Stranger.” The series aims to maintain Coben’s reputation for clever storytelling and unexpected twists, which have led to past successes on the platform.

As of now, additional casting details remain under wraps. The production is set to wrap by the end of August 2025, with expectations for a 2026 release. This announcement comes amid a surge of excitement around similar adaptations, as Netflix continues to capitalize on the popularity of Coben’s works.

Worthington’s involvement marks his debut in leading a Netflix series, though he has featured in previous films for the platform, such as “Fractured” and “The Titan.”

Fans of Coben and crime thrillers can anticipate a thrilling experience as “I Will Find You” prepares to capture the attention of audiences worldwide.
