In a surprising development, Fernando da Cruz has vacated his position with the Soweto Giants to join the Moroccan Football Association. This unexpected move has prompted the club to swiftly search for a replacement to assist head coach Nabi.

Fernando da Cruz was initially brought on board to help lay the foundation for the team’s new direction while Nabi was completing his tenure at AS FAR in Morocco. However, his stay was short-lived, leaving a significant gap in the technical team.

Head coach Nabi, in a post-match interview following a 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership, expressed the need for additional support, stating “there was simply too much work to be done and just one assistant coach wasn’t enough.” Currently, Khalil Ben Youssef serves as the second in charge for the Chiefs.

Relief is on the horizon for Nabi with the impending arrival of Kaze, who is anticipated to join the team shortly, filling the void left by da Cruz. Nabi and Kaze have previously collaborated successfully at Young African in the Tanzanian Premier League, where they shared a winning partnership.

Nabi’s tenure at Young African was marked by notable achievements, including securing two league titles before he transitioned to AS FAR in Morocco. His move to the Soweto Giants was highly anticipated, and Kaze’s arrival is expected to bolster the team’s communication efforts due to his proficient English skills.

According to SABC Sport, Kaze may take on some communication responsibilities, alleviating the language barrier that Nabi currently faces since settling in with the team. This development is set to enhance the operational efficiency of the team’s technical directives.
