Luxurious Private Jets Of Athletes

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Following his historic win at the Masters on April 16, 2025, Rory McIlroy‘s private jet departed from Augusta Regional Airport the next day, marking the end of a celebratory weekend. His jet was among the many that filled the usually quiet airport during the annual post-Masters exodus.

After a brief stopover in Florida, McIlroy’s plane, registered as N1989R, landed at Farnborough Airport in England on Wednesday morning. With over $160 million in career winnings, McIlroy shares his aerial lifestyle with other elite athletes with their own flights.

Among them is Michael Jordan, whose new Gulfstream G650ER jet, worth around $65 million, features an eye-catching black-and-blue custom paint job. The tail of the jet displays the Jumpman logo, a nod to his iconic sneaker brand, and its registration number N236MJ represents his legacy with the Chicago Bulls.

Cristiano Ronaldo also travels in style aboard a Bombardier Global Express XRS, adorned with custom features. His partner, Georgina Rodríguez, frequently shares images of the jet, which boasts a sleek black and gray exterior with ‘CR7’ emblazoned and a silhouette of Ronaldo celebrating. The 15-year-old aircraft was refurbished last year, can accommodate 14 passengers, and includes five sleeping berths.

In a landmark achievement, Ronaldo became the first active team-sport athlete to reach $1 billion in career earnings, according to Forbes. His luxurious travel options continue to reflect his success.

Another powerhouse in the sports industry, Alex Rodriguez, captures attention with his Gulfstream IV-SP, registered as N313AR, which he acquired in 2017. It showcases a distinctive tail design featuring a swinging baseball player, tying back to his storied career. Built in 1997, this jet can carry 19 passengers and has a range of about 4,850 miles, making it suitable for long distances.

Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen recently joined the ranks of elite jet owners, acquiring a Dassault Falcon 8X for roughly $50 million. Known for its three engines and excellent range of 6,450 nautical miles, it is perfectly designed for the demanding global F1 schedule. The jet’s striking black design with neon orange accents mirrors the Red Bull branding and has been spotted at various Grand Prix venues this season.

Lastly, Tiger Woods rounds out the group with a Gulfstream G550, registered as N517TW. Worth approximately $1.3 billion, Woods’s plane has made 71 flights over the past year, primarily landing in Stuart, Florida, the closest airport to his residence in a luxury community.

The private aviation habits of these elite athletes highlight not just their individual successes but also the lifestyle that comes with extraordinary wealth, making their journeys as notable as their performances on the field.
