Stephen Curry Nba Season Opener

San Francisco, CA — Stephen Curry is set to open his 17th NBA season on October 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The star point guard has made it clear that his primary objective this year is to compete for another championship with the Golden State Warriors.

Curry, 37, is optimistic about his team’s potential as they prepare for the upcoming season. He believes the roster, which includes stars like Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, along with key players like Al Horford and Jonathan Kuminga, has what it takes to make a deep playoff run. ‘Everything has to go right, health-wise,’ Curry stated. ‘Jimmy adds another dynamic that we didn’t even have back then [in 2022], so I’m excited to see it all the way through.’

Recently, the NBA recognized Curry’s significant milestone, announcing that he will become the 10th player in history to spend 17 or more seasons with one team. This achievement ties him with renowned players like Dirk Nowitzki and Kobe Bryant, who also spent their entire careers with one franchise.

Curry reflected on the nearing end of his career, acknowledging the sense of urgency that comes with it. ‘I just know it’s closer than it was even yesterday,’ he said. ‘The more I talk about it, the more I appreciate what all goes into preparing yourself.’

Experts are divided on the Warriors’ chances this season, but analyst Jason Timpf expressed optimism about Curry’s performance, predicting he could average between 27 to 28 points per game. ‘I think Steph is going to be awesome to start this year—like awesome, awesome,’ Timpf said. ‘He’s going to try like hell to find the best potential for this group.’

While some critics believe the Warriors’ time as serious contenders is over, Curry’s leadership and the team’s depth, including young talent like Kuminga and the addition of Butler, may surprise many throughout the season.
