AUSTIN, Texas — Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the hit series “Yellowstone,” has made headlines not just for his captivating storytelling but also for his personal life with wife Nicole Muirbrook. Married since 2013, the couple’s journey reflects a blend of love, family, and the rugged lifestyle they embrace.

The two first crossed paths in an acting class in Los Angeles in the late 2000s after Muirbrook divorced Christian Wagner. After a few years of dating, they welcomed their son, Gus, in September 2010. Sheridan has often expressed his desire to prioritize family over career. He told the Austin American-Statesman in 2017, “I didn’t want to have to look him in the eye and tell him I couldn’t take him to a baseball game because I had an audition for a Windex commercial.”

Following Gus’s birth, the family relocated to Muirbrook’s home state of Utah, where they married in September 2013. In a heartfelt post on social media for their seventh wedding anniversary in 2020, Muirbrook expressed her gratitude, saying, “To the man I get to do life with. Thank you for the countless smiles, crazy adventures and all the things in between.”

After living in Park City, Utah, they decided to move to Texas to further embrace their cowboy roots. “So, he rolled over one morning and said, ‘Honey, we’re getting the hell out of here,’” Muirbrook recounted to Cowgirl Magazine in 2021. They purchased a house in Texas sight unseen while Sheridan was busy with the demands of “Yellowstone.” Muirbrook later visited to see their new home and fell in love with it.

Today, the couple owns two ranches in Texas, Bosque Ranch and the historic 6666 Ranch, which was highlighted in season four of “Yellowstone” and is set to be featured in an upcoming spin-off series. Sheridan noted the significance of the ranch’s legacy and its connection to Texas’s rich ranching heritage.

The family’s connection to their ranch lifestyle significantly influences their son’s upbringing. “He’s never on his phone. He’s always outside with the dogs, fishing with his buddies or roller-skating in the barn,” Muirbrook said. “He also ropes, so he’s often on horseback.”

Living with a prolific writer like Sheridan comes with its own set of challenges, but Muirbrook embraces the ride. “It’s fun seeing my husband have his own brand,” she remarked. “Between the horses and the TV side of things, it’s always a roller coaster going somewhere fast.” They currently reside in Texas with their two dogs, chickens, and cats.
