HOUSTON, Texas — Teacher Appreciation Week takes place from May 5 to May 9, 2025, with many local businesses showing gratitude by offering discounts and freebies to educators. Teacher Appreciation Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 6, providing an opportunity for the community to acknowledge the hard work of teachers.

Various restaurants and retailers across the country are participating in this initiative. For example, Kazzan Ramen & Bar is offering a 20% discount to teachers with a valid work ID on May 6. Verde Garden and Wooster’s Garden are both providing a 10% discount to educators that day as well.

Original ChopShop will extend a 10% discount to teachers from May 5-9 for both dine-in and to-go orders. Additionally, Whataburger will offer a free breakfast entrée from May 5 to May 9 during specific hours and will grant $1,000 cash awards to 75 educators as part of their 75th-anniversary celebration.

Teachers can also enjoy discounts at Logan’s Roadhouse, which is giving 20% off an entrée with a valid ID from May 5-12. Smoothie King will offer 20% off orders starting on May 6, while State Fare Kitchen & Bar will provide complimentary entrées from a special menu for teachers on May 6.

Crawfish Cafe is celebrating the week by offering a 15% discount for teachers from May 5-9, and Pho Prime will initiate a BOGO 50% off deal on any pho bowl or sandwich during the same period.

In commendation of educators, Willie’s Grill & Icehouse is providing free chips and queso for teachers and conducting a contest where schools can win benefits for staff for the upcoming school year.

Nationwide, the offers include discounts from companies like Chipotle, which is giving away over $2 million in free burrito e-gift cards and Michaels, which offers a 15% discount. The celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week is a way for communities to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of teachers.
