TNA Wrestling Announces New Championship, Retires Digital Media Title

ST. JOSEPH, Missouri — TNA Wrestling officially announced the retirement of the Digital Media Championship and the introduction of the TNA International Championship during a taping of TNA iMPACT! on March 29. The announcement was made by Santino Marella, the company’s Director of Authority, who revealed a tournament would determine the inaugural champion at the TNA Unbreakable event on April 17.
The Digital Media Championship, a title established in 2021 and first held by Jordynne Grace, has seen notable competitors such as PCO, the last recognized champion who famously smashed the belt during a match. Marella’s decision came after Steph De Lander and Mance Warner, who previously proclaimed themselves co-champions, were stripped of their title rights.
The new championship will be decided in a series of Triple Threat matches during the Unbreakable pay-per-view event, signifying a shift in TNA’s approach to its championship belts. “This tournament opens a new chapter for TNA and highlights our commitment to showcasing diverse talents,” Marella stated during the event.
The TNA Unbreakable event will take place at the Cox Pavilion in Paradise, Nevada, coinciding with WrestleMania Week, and will be broadcast live, further expanding TNA’s reach. Additional details regarding the participants and format of the tournament will be released in the lead-up to the event.
With the retirement of the Digital Media Championship, fans and competitors alike await what the TNA International Championship will symbolize for the promotion’s future in the global wrestling landscape.
Viewers can catch TNA iMPACT! every Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on AXS TV and TNA Plus for more updates and developments.
