Washington D.c. Weather Forecast Storms Clouds

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An unsettled stretch of weather is expected to affect the Washington, D.C. region this Friday and through the upcoming weekend. The National Weather Service has indicated the potential for showers and thunderstorms, particularly as humidity and temperatures rise.

According to FOX 5 meteorologist Taylor Grenda, temperatures are projected to reach the upper 80s by Friday afternoon. A brief chance of isolated storms may occur during the mid-afternoon and evening hours, with the possibility of damaging winds associated with the thunderstorms.

The weather is expected to remain cloudy and humid overnight. Saturday will begin dry but warm, with predicted highs near 87 degrees. Scattered thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday afternoon and evening, some potentially severe with damaging winds and large hail.

Temperatures will cool down on Sunday, with highs in the mid-70s. The chance for afternoon thunderstorms will persist into Monday and throughout the week, as the unsettled weather pattern continues.

This week’s weather disruptions in the region align with patterns being observed in other areas, including Springfield, Massachusetts, and Columbia, South Carolina, where similar conditions of scattered storms and variable temperatures are reported.

The ongoing weather developments reinforce the importance of staying informed and prepared as potential severe weather threatens weekend plans.
