Valentine’s Day Weekend Box Office Expectations: Early Projections for Upcoming Releases
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and with it comes a long weekend that includes Presidents Day. As a result, studios are gearing up for a successful box office run during this extended holiday period. Let’s take a look at the early projections for the upcoming releases.
Scheduled to release on Wednesday, several movies are expected to set the stage for a romantic and entertaining weekend. Lionsgate, United Artists, Sony, and Crunchyroll have exciting offerings such as ‘Miller’s Girl,’ ‘Underdoggs,’ ‘The Concierge,’ and ‘Housekeeping for Beginners’ respectively.
Fathom Events will contribute to the weekend by bringing ‘The Chosen: Season 4 Episodes 1-3′ to the big screen, with an estimated opening range of $7-11 million. Universal Pictures and Apple Original Films’ ‘Argylle’ is also expected to make a splash with an opening range of $20-30 million.
Another movie to watch out for is Lionsgate’s ‘Scrambled,’ which aims to capture audiences’ attention with its thrilling story. It is projected to open with a range of $2-5 million. Focus Features‘ ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ and Bleecker Street’s ‘The Origin‘ are also worth keeping an eye on.
For the family audience, Disney and Pixar are all set to release ‘Turning Red,’ a highly anticipated animated film. And what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a tribute to Bob Marley? Paramount Pictures‘ ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ is expected to bring in $11-16 million during its opening weekend.
Finally, Sony and Columbia Pictures will take us on an exciting adventure with ‘Madame Web,’ projected to open in the range of $25-35 million. Angel Studios‘ ‘The Chosen: Season 4 Episodes 4-6’ will round out the weekend with episodes 4-6 of their hit series.
