Wits RHI Seeks Project Manager for PEPFAR-funded HIV Program

The Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute (Wits RHI), located within the University of the Witwatersrand, is currently searching for a skilled project manager for their PEPFAR-funded HIV program. The main purpose of the job is to provide strategic and operational management for the program, ensuring efficient implementation and delivery of services.

As the project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting. You will also be involved in setting performance targets, developing work plans, and ensuring compliance with PEPFAR regulations and guidelines.

The program is focused on addressing some of the greatest public health concerns related to HIV in the region. The successful candidate will have experience managing a PEPFAR-funded project and a strong understanding of HIV prevention, treatment, and care.

Key performance areas for this role include conducting routine data reviews, providing data quality support, generating timely reports, and participating in feedback and planning sessions with stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be expected to establish data quality forums at the facility, participate in data review meetings, and attend to staffing requirements and administration.

Applicants should have a relevant postgraduate degree in a health-related field and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Professional body registration is also required.

The demands of the job include effective communication and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Health and other technical teams. Strong leadership and management skills are essential, as well as the ability to coach and train subordinates.
