Zach Bryan Purchases Former Church for Jack Kerouac Center

Lowell, Massachusetts – Country music star Zach Bryan has made headlines recently, not just for his music, but also for his surprising acquisition of a church. The 29-year-old artist, fresh off deals worth $350 million with Warner Music and his publishing, purchased the former Saint Jean Baptiste Church.
Bryan’s interest in the church stems from his admiration for Jack Kerouac, a famous altar boy from the church and a renowned figure of the Beat Generation. Kerouac is celebrated for his influential novel, ‘On the Road,’ which greatly inspired Bryan’s 2022 single ‘Burn, Burn, Burn.’
The purchase is more than just a property acquisition for Bryan. He plans to transform the church into the Jack Kerouac Center, a space designed to honor Kerouac’s legacy. This initiative has been described as a turning point that will bring vital funding and renewed energy to its development.
Sylvia Cunha, a spokesperson for the Jack Kerouac Estate, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, ‘From the start, it was clear Zach shared our passion for honoring Jack’s legacy while creating a dynamic creative space.’ She added, ‘Our immediate focus is to bring the building up to code.
The center is anticipated to host exhibits, live music, public readings, and community events. This vision aims to foster creativity in the heart of Kerouac’s hometown, making it a unique destination for fans and scholars alike.
As part of the development, Cunha praised Bryan’s commitment, noting his ‘incredible generosity’ and passion for the project. This transformation of the church certainly signifies a remarkable step toward preserving literary history and encouraging local arts.
