Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, have broken their silence. In an Instagram video posted Tuesday, the couple addressed the public for the first time since Blake Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment in December 2024. The lawsuit, stemming from their work on the film “It Ends With Us,” was settled in May, just weeks before trial. No apology was issued by either side.
“We have not done this in a while,” Baldoni warns at the start of the video, seated beside Emily. The couple rarely posts front-facing videos, cross-posted for maximum visibility. “It felt like every time we went to make a video like this, something was telling us not to,” Baldoni explains. “We were talking about it and feeling into it and praying on it.” Emily adds, “This feels like the moment.”
The video is carefully crafted. Baldoni, appearing at home with zero production value, frequently defers to his wife. She speaks of “injustice and pain,” asking, “How could something like this even happen, let alone disguised as a fight for women?” Baldoni shakes his head. The couple frames the legal battle not just as an attack on his character, but on their marriage.
Throughout the video, the Baldonis emphasize their faith. “We are healing,” Baldoni says, eyes closed, smiling. “Healing isn’t linear.” They credit their Baháʼà faith—and a vague faith in what is “right”—for bringing them closer. “We feel so loved,” Baldoni says, thanking supporters who showed “discernment.”
But the video is also an assertion of rightness. Birds chirp in the background, but the message is pointed. The Baldonis do not name names, yet their words echo the legal battle’s core: allegations of a secret smear machine. Comments from Wayfarer Studios, Baldoni’s production company, affirm the couple’s stance. With legal fees unresolved, the video may signal not an end, but a new phase.
