CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Virginia — A missing Virginia 2-year-old girl who walked away from her home Thursday evening has been found safe, authorities said.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Bridget Maeve Zeigler walked away from her home on Hidden Valley Road on Thursday shortly after 6 p.m.
A search for the girl began within the hour.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, Virginia State Police, and additional law enforcement agencies and fire and rescue agencies were involved in the search.
Virginia State Police said Bridget was found alive in the woods off of Anderson Highway at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
She has been reunited with her parents, officials said, and she appears to be in good health after being checked out.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Bridget Maeve Zeigler is 2 years old.
She walked away from her home in Cumberland County, Virginia.
The search started Thursday evening and continued into Friday afternoon.
It ended when Virginia State Police said the girl was found alive in the woods off Anderson Highway.
She was found at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials said she was reunited with her parents.
Officials said she appears to be in good health after being checked out.
