OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — Two people were fatally shot at a home in the Oakland Hills near U. C. Berkeley’s campus on Friday morning, according to police.
Berkeley police say that officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block on Panoramic Way just before 11 a. m., where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers performed life-saving measures until firefighters arrived.
SKY7 was over the scene, showing emergency personnel gathered with police cars stretching down the street.
Officials have not yet provided additional details about what led to the reported shooting.
BERKELEY, Calif. – A swarm of East Bay police officers on Friday responded to reports of a double shooting in the Berkeley hills, and many emergency crews were seen along winding road heavily forested with trees.
A house on Panoramic Way is the center of police activity.
Berkeley police, who were assisting Oakland police, said two people were struck by gunfire just before 11 a.m. along the 400 block of Panoramic Way, a street that borders both cities.
The area is also near the UC Berkeley campus.
No further details were immediately available.
Oakland police are the lead investigators.
