Google Services Temporarily Down Across Turkey and Europe

ISTANBUL, Turkey — Some Google services, including YouTube, experienced outages on Thursday morning across Turkey and parts of Europe, as reported by users and internet monitors.
The disruptions began around 10:00 a.m. local time (07:00 GMT) in Turkey, according to the Freedom of Expression Association, which tracks internet censorship in the country. Reports of service interruptions peaked shortly after that time, with concerns raised about accessibility to various Google services.
Deputy Transport and Infrastructure Minister Omer Fatih Sayan confirmed the outages on X, stating, “Google, Android, and associated services are experiencing an outage covering the Türkiye and Europe region.” He added that a technical report has been requested from Google to investigate the situation.
A map shared by Sayan indicated that affected areas include Turkey, large parts of southeastern Europe, and regions in Ukraine, Russia, and western Europe. Users in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania reported issues such as failures to access websites, YouTube, and Gmail.
Service tracking website Downdetector noted that many services were restored before 09:00 GMT, with a decline in reports of disruptions following 07:51 GMT. In Germany, outage monitoring site allestoerungen.de observed an increase in disruptions around 09:00 a.m. local time.
As of now, Google has not commented on the outages. The situation remains under observation as various users report the gradual return of services in some areas.
