Bia Mesquita Ufc Debut

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — Bia Mesquita is set to make her UFC debut on October 11 against Irina Alekseeva during an exciting event that also features a highly anticipated fight between Charles Oliveira and Mateusz Gamrot.

Mesquita, who trains at American Top Team, is an accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor with an undefeated record of 5-0 in MMA. She expressed her excitement ahead of the bout, noting the pressure of performing in front of a home crowd while also focusing on her opponent.

“I am really excited to finally be making my debut in the UFC. Fighting in Brazil is a dream for me, and I am ready to show my skills,” Mesquita said in an interview. “Irina is tough, but I am confident in my training.”

On the same night, Amanda Nunes is expected to face former teammate Kayla Harrison. Mesquita, who trains with Harrison, remarked on the significance of the fight for both women. While Melancon believes it will be a defining moment for Harrison, she doesn’t think it will be the end of her career.

“Kayla has such a big fire inside of her. She is always working hard and chasing her goals,” Mesquita said. “This fight is big, but I am sure she will keep pushing for more.”

Mesquita hopes Harrison’s potential success will pave the way for future opportunities at featherweight, allowing her to pursue a championship at bantamweight. “Harrison could open many doors for women in the sport,” she said.

While Oliveira and Gamrot prepare for their main event bout, Mesquita remains a fan of Oliveira’s grappling style. “Both fighters have unique skills, and I expect an amazing fight,” she said. “As a grappling fan, I can’t wait to see how the match unfolds.”

The UFC has not yet announced a date for the Nunes-Harrison fight, but excitement is building among fans as Mesquita aims to impress during her debut in Rio.
