Double homicide at Barku Plastics in Cleveland, Tennessee
CLEVELAND, Tennessee — Police are investigating a double homicide at a plastics plant after two men were found dead on Monday morning. The shooting occurred at Barku Plastics around 10 a.m., located just off Old Chattanooga Pike, south and west of downtown Cleveland.
Officers from the Cleveland Police Department (CPD) arrived at the scene following reports of gunfire. They discovered the bodies of two employees inside the facility. Local authorities confirmed that both victims were supervisors at the plant and of German descent.
CPD is treating this incident as a double homicide and has identified a potential suspect. The suspect, a former employee of Barku Plastics, reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle. This vehicle was later traced to a residence in Bradley County, outside the Cleveland city limits.
In response, the Cleveland Police Department is working in coordination with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team to establish a perimeter around the suspect’s residence. Law enforcement is conducting operations to ensure public safety during the investigation.
Barku Plastics LLC specializes in custom plastic injection molding and profile extrusion, producing components for various industries including automotive and consumer goods.
