Syracuse Orange Vs Drexel Dragons Basketball

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team will take on the Drexel Dragons on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game, held at Xfinity Mobile Arena, marks a significant event as Syracuse aims to continue its winning streak against Drexel, with a historical record of 4-1 between the teams.

After two dominant wins to start the 2025-26 season, the Orange improved their record to 2-0. They began with a resounding victory over Binghamton, followed by an 83-43 win against Delaware State last week. Freshman Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, has emerged as a standout player, averaging 17 points per game with an impressive shooting percentage of 66.7% from the field.

Syracuse coach Adrian Autry expressed optimism about the team’s direction, stating, “I just felt like it’s something that sends a good message to our team and our fans that, hey, this is what we’re trying to do.”

Despite their success, the team faces challenges, particularly with senior J.J. Starling sidelined due to a leg injury and considered day-to-day. Anthony stepped into the starting lineup in Starling’s absence but is expected to return to the bench upon Starling’s recovery.

Drexel, entering the matchup with a 1-2 record, is looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses against Saint Joseph’s and Colgate. The Dragons are led by junior Shane Blakeney, who has averaged 14.3 points per game this season. Blakeney scored 24 points in their recent loss against Colgate, showcasing his potential despite the team’s struggles.

The last time Syracuse and Drexel met on the court was on November 14, 2021, where the Orange emerged victorious with a score of 75-60. This game is significant for both programs, as Syracuse looks to maintain its momentum heading into the competitive season.

Drexel’s head coach Zach Spiker reflected on the importance of the game: “Every matchup is a chance to grow and show what we’re capable of.” With the game being part of the Autumn Invitational, the atmosphere is expected to be electric as fans rally behind both teams.

As fans gear up for the showdown, anticipation builds for what promises to be an exciting chapter in college basketball.
