Dancing with the Stars Celebrates Prince Night in Semifinals
LOS ANGELES, CA — The six semifinalists on this season’s Dancing with the Stars will take on iconic songs by Prince as they compete for the coveted Mirrorball trophy. Prince Night airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, on ABC. Each pair will perform to two songs from the legendary singer-songwriter, who was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
This week, there will be no guest judge; the contestants will be evaluated by the original panel as they strive to secure a spot in the finale, which will air on Nov. 25. The official set list for Prince Night includes classics like “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” “I Would Die 4 U,” “Little Red Corvette,” and “I Wanna Be Your Lover,” all posted by DWTS on their Instagram.
Last week, the stars celebrated the 20th anniversary of Dancing with the Stars with special performances alongside former pro dancers and season champions. The night ended with comedian Andy Richter and his partner Emma Slater being eliminated from the competition, as they danced a quickstep to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Robbie Williams and scored 29 points.
Richter expressed gratitude for the experience, saying, “It changed my life. I’m a different person because of this show.” The competition has seen eight celebrities eliminated this season, leaving six pairs battling for the title.
The semifinals will feature performances from Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas, Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten.
Each contestant will perform a repeat style and a first-time style dance. Voting for the semifinalists is open during the live show, and fans can support their favorite couples via text. The season finale will follow Nov. 25 where the champion will be crowned.
