Whitney Leavitt Eliminated from DWTS despite High Scores in Semi-Finals
LOS ANGELES, CA – Whitney Leavitt and her partner Mark Ballas were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars on November 18, despite earning the third-highest score during the semi-finals.
The duo performed a cha cha to Prince‘s ‘1999’ and a Viennese waltz to ‘Slow Love,’ garnering 58 points. However, their impressive scores were not enough to secure a spot in the finale.
Leavitt expressed her gratitude after the results were announced, stating, “I already feel like a winner. This show has meant the absolute world for me. It’s changed my life and I’ll forever be so grateful to have this experience.”
Ballas echoed her sentiments, saying, “I had the best time. I love this show.” The emotional evening in the ballroom was marked by tears from contestants, with Jordan Chiles celebrating her first perfect score of 30.
Chiles reflected on her achievement, telling co-host Julianne Hough, “That little girl in me should be very, very proud.” The semi-finals saw high emotional stakes as Dylan Efron received support from his brother, Zac Efron.
Leavitt’s elimination followed notable departures, including Andy Richter and Emma Slater, who were eliminated during the 20th anniversary episode on November 11. Richter remarked, “It’s changed my life” after performing.
With Leavitt’s exit, five stars remain in the competition: Alix Earle, Jordan Chiles, Dylan Efron, Robert Irwin, and Elaine Hendrix. The season finale is set for November 25, where the remaining contestants will battle for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
