The post announced a new version of her song, “It’s Not That Deep.” Lovato also used this opportunity to discuss her ongoing healing process tied to her experiences in the entertainment industry.

As she worked on the documentary “Child Star,” released in 2024, Lovato noted that she began to heal from challenges associated with early fame. “I had a lot of fun working on Child Star. But I also did a lot for myself to be able to come out of that experience with some tangible changes,” she expressed in a comment to Who What Wear.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Lovato has emerged as an advocate for child protection in the entertainment industry. She recounted a story of how she brought a bill to California Governor Gavin Newsom‘s attention, saying, “I kind of put him on the spot…Then the Governor called me the next day… and said, ‘Okay!'” This highlights her commitment to advocating for safer conditions for young performers.
In a previous interview with People, Lovato described working on the documentary as therapeutic. “This whole journey has been really healing for me. Honoring the truth about my inner child has been really healing for me,” she stated.
