Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Movie

LOS ANGELES, CA — “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the latest film in the popular franchise, will debut on Paramount+ on December 4. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, alongside Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and several others.

This sequel continues the story two months after the last film, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.” The Impossible Mission Force (IMF) is once again on the hunt for the Entity, a sophisticated AI threatening global intelligence networks. As Hunt and his team face increasing pressure from governments worldwide, they must also confront shadows from Hunt’s past.

Released theatrically on May 23, the film achieved the largest global opening in the franchise’s history, grossing $598 million worldwide. Written by McQuarrie and Erik Jendresen, the film is based on the television series created by Bruce Geller.

The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14, where it received an out-of-competition screening. Both Cruise and McQuarrie attended the event, marking the first time a “Mission: Impossible” film has premiered at Cannes.

Despite its impressive box office numbers, the film faced challenges with its $400 million production budget, meaning it needed to earn closer to $1 billion to break even. Reviews have been generally positive, with 80% approval from critics and 88% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans can expect to see this action-packed installment streaming on Paramount+, capturing the thrilling conclusion to Ethan Hunt’s journey.
