Aaron Holiday Houston Rockets Game Highlights

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Houston Rockets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, showcasing a strong fourth-quarter performance by guard Aaron Holiday.

Despite a third-quarter collapse, the Rockets secured a 114-104 victory at Rocket Arena. Holiday, who had only scored four points in the first three quarters, exploded for 14 points in the final twelve minutes, shooting 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range.

This impressive fourth-quarter display made him the team’s leading scorer off the bench for the game, stepping up in the absence of injured players.

Holiday, now in his third season with the Rockets, has not established himself as a significant contributor on a consistent basis. His limited role has often come when key players are resting or games are out of reach. Yet, he has performed admirably when called upon, particularly with recent injuries to Fred VanVleet and Dorian Finney-Smith.

Coach Ime Udoka praised Holiday’s readiness. “Sometimes when we needed timely baskets and stops, (Holiday) stepped up,” he said. “It’s a luxury to have a guy that always stays ready.”

On Wednesday, Holiday scored a total of 18 points in just 19 minutes, marking one of his best performances as a Rocket. He capitalized on every trip to the foul line, shooting five-for-five and hitting three 3-pointers.

Holiday emphasized his versatility, stating, “I don’t feel like I’m just a scorer. Whatever they need me to do, I’ll do.”

However, his performance on Friday against the Denver Nuggets was less impressive, as he went 0-for-3 without scoring in 13 minutes. This inconsistency has raised concerns about the Rockets’ depth as injuries compound their challenges.

As the Rockets navigate upcoming games without key players, they will need Holiday to produce effectively. As he put it, “If anyone should be stepping up, it’s Aaron Holiday.”
