An Instagram post by Annah Tagovailoa, wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, has sparked widespread discussion and criticism on social media. Annah’s post praised former President Donald Trump for offering accommodations to Florida Power and Light workers at Trump National Doral Miami ahead of Hurricane Milton‘s arrival. The gesture was highlighted in a post by conservative influencer Benny Johnson, which Annah shared on her Instagram story.

This action has been interpreted by many as a show of support for the Republican nominee ahead of the upcoming November 5 election. As a result, Annah Tagovailoa faced a mixed response online, with some netizens launching criticisms. One commenter slurred, “Maybe her husband isn’t the only one who suffered a concussion?” Such comments reference Tua Tagovailoa’s well-publicized concussion issues.

Tua Tagovailoa, who has a history of concussions, was recently sidelined due to another head injury suffered during a game against the Buffalo Bills. He is on injured reserve and is not expected to return to play until October 27, when the Dolphins face the Arizona Cardinals. Concerns over his long-term health and career in the NFL persist among fans and sports commentators.

Not all reactions to Annah Tagovailoa’s post were negative. Some users praised her for expressing support, with comments like “That’s a good woman,” and others criticizing the backlash as overblown. “She’s based. Are we really still getting butthurt over people supporting Trump these days?” one user remarked.

This incident draws comparisons to a controversy earlier this year involving Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who also faced criticism for liking a Trump-related post on Instagram. In response to the backlash, Mahomes defended her actions, stating, “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.”

The Tagovailoa family first made headlines on social media when a fabricated claim suggested Tua had attended a Trump event, which was later debunked. The couple, who married in July 2022, choose to keep much of their personal life, including their two children, private from the media. Annah, originally from North Carolina, met Tua during their time at the University of Alabama.
