Apc Councillorship Candidate Murdered In Ogun State

Adeleke Adeyinka, a councillorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, was brutally murdered on Saturday afternoon by unidentified assailants in Abeokuta, the state capital. The incident occurred along Osoba Way, where Adeleke, a former youth leader of Ward 15 in Abeokuta South, was shot and then stoned to death by his attackers.

The attackers, who are suspected to be cultists, fled the scene in an unregistered Toyota Corolla. The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is investigating the matter. The police stated that the attackers opened fire on 40-year-old Adeleke before fleeing.

The APC Youth Leaders Forum has strongly condemned the killing, describing it as a “senseless and horrific act” that has left the community shaken and grieving. In a joint statement by Comrade Kabir Odedairo, the Youth Leader of Abeokuta South Local Government, and Comrade Timothy Odedina, the forum’s State Public Relations Officer, the group demanded swift justice and called on security agencies to enhance security in the area to prevent further violence.

The community and APC members are mourning the loss of Adeleke, who was seen as a promising leader. The forum has urged the police to take immediate action to ensure the safety of residents in Abeokuta and to bring those responsible for the murder to justice).
