Cameron Diaz Returns to Hollywood After Nearly a Decade of Retirement
Cameron Diaz, the renowned actress known for her roles in films like ‘Charlie’s Angels‘ and ‘Gangs of New York,’ is making a significant comeback to the entertainment industry after nearly a decade of retirement. Diaz had formally announced her retirement from acting in 2018, following her last project in 2014 with the film ‘Annie‘.
Her return to Hollywood is marked by her involvement in two major projects. First, she is set to star alongside Jamie Foxx in the Netflix action movie ‘Back in Action,’ which has been delayed and is now scheduled to stream on January 17, 2025. The delay is attributed to health issues faced by her co-star, Jamie Foxx.
In addition to ‘Back in Action,’ Diaz is also reprising her role as Princess Fiona in the upcoming ‘Shrek‘ film, continuing her collaboration with Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy.
Diaz’s decision to step back from her acting career was largely driven by her desire to focus on her family life, a path also taken by other Hollywood stars like Eva Mendes and Demi Moore.
Her return is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike, given her extensive and acclaimed filmography. Diaz first gained recognition with her debut role in ‘The Mask‘ in 1994, a film that launched her career and showcased her talent beyond her striking appearance.
