City Of Sault Ste. Marie Announces Easter Holiday Operations Schedule

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has issued a notice regarding its operational plans over the upcoming Easter holiday weekend, spanning from Friday through Monday. Among the facilities and services set to be closed during this period are the Civic Centre, the administrative office of GFL Memorial Gardens, and the City Landfill along with the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.

Sault Ste. Marie will soon have access to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot as it is scheduled to open for the season on April 16. Additionally, the City Landfill will commence its Saturday operations from April 20 onwards.

During the Easter holiday period from March 29 to April 1, several city facilities will remain shut. This includes the Civic Centre, GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office, and the City Landfill along with the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.

Garbage and recycling collection services in Sault Ste. Marie will observe a schedule adjustment due to Good Friday and Easter Monday. There will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Friday, March 29, with collection rescheduled to Saturday, March 30. Furthermore, there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Monday, April 1, with pickups set to take place one day later for that week.

For those planning to dispose of hazardous waste materials, the Household Hazardous Waste Depot will welcome the public starting April 16, thereafter operating from Tuesday to Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The City Landfill, on the other hand, will be closed on Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, opening its gates for Saturday operations from April 20 onwards.

On the entertainment front, the GFL Memorial Gardens box office will be open on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, scheduled programming at the venue will take place on Saturday, March 30, and Monday, April 1. Meanwhile, the John Rhodes facility will be closed on Friday, March 29, and Sunday, March 31, with select programming available on Saturday, March 30, and public-skating opportunities on Monday, April 1.
