Dallas Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Assault Involving Cowboys’ Dak Prescott
Dallas police have initiated an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving Dallas Cowboys‘ star quarterback Dak Prescott. The investigation stems from a complaint filed by a woman regarding an incident that allegedly occurred in 2017.
Reports confirm that the woman filed a police report following Prescott’s $100 million extortion claim against her in Collin County. The police in Prosper, where Prescott resides, are also looking into his extortion allegations.
Prescott’s legal representative, Levi McCathern, has raised concerns about the timing of the woman’s report, seven years after the purported assault and in the midst of the ongoing extortion investigation. McCathern emphasized that they are committed to working with law enforcement to resolve the case justly.
In response to the situation, Prescott filed a lawsuit seeking relief exceeding $1 million and pledged to donate any recovered amounts to organizations like the Joyful Heart Foundation. The lawsuit accuses the woman of defamation, business disparagement, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Earlier this year, Prescott received a letter from attorneys Bethel and Yoel Zehaie on behalf of the woman, demanding $100 million to settle the matter outside of court. A dispute has emerged between the involved parties, with each asserting their version of the events.
Amidst the legal back-and-forth, Cowboys’ executive vice president Stephen Jones clarified that the case would not impact the team’s contract negotiations with Prescott. The organization is focused on the legal proceedings and refrains from commenting on the matter at this time.
