The NSW Education Standards Authority has unveiled the official timetable for the 2024 Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams, providing crucial information for thousands of students. This milestone marks a pivotal moment for the Class of 2024 as they near the culmination of their 13-year academic journey.

Paul Martin, the CEO of the NSW Education Standards Authority, emphasized the significance of the released timetable, underscoring the need for students to prioritize their mental well-being amid the rigorous exam preparation. The timetable’s availability offers clarity and structure to students as they prepare for the scheduled exam period in October.

A mammoth logistical effort underpins the HSC exam process, with this year’s written exams spanning 18 days and encompassing 760 exam centers, where approximately 76,000 students will sit for 400,000 unique exam sessions. The cooperation and dedication of teachers, principals, and support staff in guiding students through this critical phase are acknowledged.

Teachers, both past and present, play integral roles in exam development, supervision, and assessment processes. Over 5,500 individuals are involved in the administration and marking of exams across the state, ensuring the smooth running of the HSC.

Commencing on October 15 with English Paper 1, the written exam period will conclude on November 8 with the Geography exam. Students and schools can access personalized exam timetables via the dedicated online platforms, Students Online and Schools Online.

Already available are the timetables for languages and practical exams, offering students a comprehensive overview of the upcoming assessment period. The release of the written exam timetable is a significant step towards the culmination of the HSC journey for the Class of 2024.
