Grey's Anatomy Season 22 Premiere

LOS ANGELES, CA — Fans of ABC’s Grey's Anatomy are on edge as the premiere of Season 22 approaches. Following a dramatic cliffhanger in Season 21, viewers are eager to discover which characters survived the gas explosion at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The premiere is set for Thursday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. ET.

Actress Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo Wilson, recently spoke about the upcoming premiere. ‘Every scene packs a punch,’ she stated. ‘Honestly, it feels like two hours’ worth of story. It’s intense. Explosive will be a great way to describe it.’

Luddington hinted at a mix of emotions for fans. ‘It’s the Grey’s you know and love, but maybe also the Grey’s you love to hate a little bit,’ she said. ‘I think there are going to be some throwing things at your TV screen, which is what Grey’s does best too.’

As viewers recall, the cliffhanger from Season 21 featured a mother, Jenna Gatlin, threatening to blow up the hospital unless her daughter’s surgery was successful. Although the surgical team managed to save the girl, the situation ended disastrously with an explosion.

Now, as the new season kicks off, fans are left wondering about the fate of key characters. In the finale, showrunner Meg Marinis indicated that aside from Meredith Grey and Ben Warren — who were outside during the explosion — anyone could be in danger. Speculation is rife, with some fearing for the lives of characters like Dr. Atticus ‘Link’ Lincoln and Dr. Monica Beltran.

The trailer showed troubling signs for Link, leading Jo to panic about his silence. ‘Linc’s not answering his phone. Where is he?’ she is heard saying. Meanwhile, Dr. Amelia Shepherd‘s emotional state hints at possible losses within her circle.

Marinis mentioned that Season 22 will not only focus on the physical recovery of the hospital but also the emotional healing of its doctors. ‘The season will touch on the long road to recovery, but I also want to focus on hope and where we look for it during trying times,’ she explained.

As excitement builds, audiences are advised to tune in for a potentially heart-wrenching premiere. Luddington reminded fans, ‘It’s a rough episode to shoot, and I think viewers are in for some hard moments.’

Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 premieres on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 9, and episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
