Al Horford Stephen Curry Nba Preseason Together

SAN FRANCISCOAl Horford, playing for the Golden State Warriors, spoke about the new dynamics after joining the team and playing with Stephen Curry for the first time. After nearly twenty years of rivalry, Horford reflected on what it’s like to play with the NBA superstar during a practice session on Tuesday.

“For me, it’s just continuing to play off his energy,” Horford said. “He just does such a good job of terrifying everybody in the league every time he moves, so that’s something that I’m going to look to take advantage of.” This chemistry was evident in their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers and highlighted Horford’s willingness to adjust his game.

During Sunday’s game, Horford admitted that being on the court with Curry has shifted his approach. “It’s a level of awareness that I’ve never really had to think about before,” he said. Horford emphasized his focus on making the game easier for Curry by either getting him the ball or setting effective screens.

Curry also expressed optimism about their on-court connection, calling it an “unspoken chemistry.” As the 39-year-old veteran, Horford is still finding his footing with the Warriors. Despite scoring just three points in a recent game, he remains committed to better integrating with his new teammates.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised Horford’s presence, noting that he embodies the team’s core values with his experience and skills. “He just brings everything you want. There’s size and athleticism and shooting ability and passing, so he makes the game really easy for everybody,” Kerr said.

Moreover, Horford appreciates the guidance of teammates like Draymond Green. He highlighted Green’s role in providing defensive support. “It’s great to play alongside him just because he’s going to protect his teammates like no other,” Horford stated. Such insights showcase Horford’s respect for team dynamics.

Kerr also mentioned pairing Horford with younger players like Jonathan Kuminga and expressed excitement about their potential. Their synergy is anticipated to develop further in the upcoming preseason game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

As Horford looks forward to the season, he is optimistic about refining his role on a team full of talent. “I know there’s definitely ways I can continue to be better,” he remarked. The Warriors’ preseason promises to be the beginning of new strategies and collaborations that could redefine their approach this season.
