Jack Roslovic Remains Unsigned as NHL Season Approaches

Columbus, Ohio – As the NHL regular season kicks off tomorrow, forward Jack Roslovic remains unsigned, raising questions about his future in professional hockey. The Columbus Blue Jackets, his last team, have yet to explore re-signing him despite him being available in the market.
During a segment on TSN‘s Insider Trading, Chris Johnston discussed the forward’s situation, noting that teams like the Minnesota Wild and the Blue Jackets might eventually show interest. Roslovic had a productive 22-goal season but is now in a challenging position.
This offseason, Roslovic decided to wait for a better contract after being disappointed with initial offers. He switched agents and has been training in Columbus in hopes of finding a deal that reflects his market value. As the season opener nears, it seems Roslovic may have to settle for a one-year deal just to ensure he finds a place to play.
Johnston mentioned, “Interest started to slow down… He’s staying patient, sticking to his belief in his value.” However, with the demand for forwards declining, he may have to adjust his expectations.
Currently, the Blue Jackets may be hesitant to bring him back due to roster constraints and a preference for different player traits, like size and physicality. They have Yegor Chinakhov waiting for a chance on the team, complicating Roslovic’s potential return.
As the market evolves, its uncertain future will determine if Roslovic will find a new contract soon or continue his wait for the right offer this season.
