Jason Segel and Harrison Ford Attend “Shrinking” Premiere
Actors Jason Segel and Harrison Ford were seen gracing the red carpet at the premiere of the second season of their Apple TV+ series “Shrinking” on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The event was held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.
Segel, known for his role in “How I Met Your Mother,” was accompanied by his girlfriend at the premiere. Meanwhile, Ford, an iconic figure in Hollywood, had the support of his wife. A host of their fellow cast members joined them, including Krista Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, and more, with Zach Braff, who directed two episodes this season, also making an appearance.
“Shrinking,” which features Segel as a grieving therapist who starts disregarding professional boundaries to candidly tell clients what he thinks, is gearing up for its second season. The series explores the tumultuous impact this unorthodox approach has on both the therapist and his clients’ lives. The new season is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, October 16, with the first two episodes, followed by weekly releases until December 25.
During the premiere, Segel discussed the show’s casting, particularly highlighting Brett Goldstein, who is known for his role in “Ted Lasso.” Segel mentioned how Goldstein, as the writer and co-creator, was well-suited for a significantly dark role in the show’s upcoming season. “Brett’s capable of doing anything,” Segel remarked, expressing confidence in Goldstein’s diverse acting abilities.
Segel drew parallels to his own experience in the entertainment industry, notably his time playing Marshall Erickson on “How I Met Your Mother.” He emphasized the challenges actors face when associated strongly with a singular role but expressed enthusiasm that Goldstein’s role would showcase his full range.
“Shrinking” season 2 promises to delve further into the complexities and ethical dilemmas faced by its central character, expanding on the narrative established in the first season.
